Manhattan Wellness Group's Chiropractic and Massage Therapists are highly trained individuals who consistently deliver the highest quality of care. When a patient arrives, he or she receives care and examination from a Doctor of Chiropractic to pinpoint areas of chronic pain, release tension and improve joint movement. After this evaluation, the patient receives a 30 minute outcome-based massage directed by the chiropractor. Our Board Certified Massage Therapists specialize in medical massage techniques aimed at diagnosing and targeting each patient's specific pain point. These techniques are proven to improve healing and recovery time.
Massage therapy is recognized as one of the oldest methods of healing, with references in medical texts nearly 4,000 years old. Today massage therapy, often referred to as bodywork or somatic therapy, refers to the application of various techniques to the muscular structure and soft tissues of the body that include applying fixed or movable pressure, holding, vibration, rocking, friction, kneading and compression. All of the techniques are used for the benefit of the musculoskeletal, circulatory-lymphatic, nervous, and other systems of the body. In fact, studies show massage therapy positively influences the overall health and well-being of patients in a mental capacity of well.
Chiropractic is the treatment of the spine and structural gateway between the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and all organs, muscles, bones, and skin. These structures are all innervated by nerves extending from the spinal cord through the joints of one's spinal column. Dr Rashad Trabulsi, and Dr Alex Kazdan have been consistently ranked as two of the best chiropractors in New York City with combined experience of over 20 years. Their philosophy on chiropractic treatment aims to heal patients by maintaining a drug free, non surgical approach to treating Injuries and Illnesses.
Spinal adjustment is a specific application of forces to facilitate the body's correction of nerve interference. The forces need to be applied with the right amount of pressure in the proper direction at the proper time. Usually this is done with the doctor's hands but it can also be done with adjusting instruments. The adjustment is to correct or reduce nerve interference. Often symptoms are relieved as a result because a symptom is your body's warning signal that something is wrong. If you have no symptoms but visit a chiropractor for a wellness checkup you will not have an adjustment unless nerve interference is detected.
Many patients report a feeling of peace and relaxation after an adjustment. It often leads to increased energy and improved sleep. Sometimes symptoms begin to improve after the first adjustment.
