Soyoung is a board certified diplomat in acupuncture and herbology, credentialed by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is a state certified and licensed acupuncturist in New York.
She studied Pharmacognosy (herbal medicine) in South Korea and continued her education at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in the US and graduated with a Master of science. She is also trained in acupuncture for facial rejuvenation, infertility and cancer patient support.
In addition, she studied Sa-Am acupuncture, which is a unique Korean method of traditional medicine taught by Dr. Kwon. Sa-Am acupuncture utilizes the five elements system of medicine using four needles among 60 antique points which has the most powerful function. This allows for an effective treatment of numerous pain and dysfunctional conditions without touching the effected, painful area. The Sa-Am method has showed great efficacy for various pain syndromes, psycho-emotional conditions, digestive problems, and infertility for both sexes.
During her internship at Beth Israel Comprehensive Cancer Center, Soyoung managed various cases of cancer patients with an emphasis on supportive medicine. Through her experience in helping patients overcome their ailments, she has become a strong believer in using Traditional Chinese Medicine in coordination with Western Medicine to treat disease and to maintain wellness.
